Navagunjara: A mythical creature composed of nine different animals
#Navagunjara represents the manifestation of Vishnu, in a form named Visvarupa. The complex figure has a bull’s hump on its slim waist, a peacock’s head and neck, and a serpent’s tail. It stands on three legs: A a tiger and a deer’s hind legs, and an elephant’s left foreleg. A lotus in full bloom is held in the shape of a human hand by the right foreleg. In some folktales, a rooster’s head is shown in place of a peacock’s.
In the tradition of Sri Jagannatha of Puri, Navagunjara is considered as representing Eswara (Supreme One) and as the Visva-rupa (Universal Form) of Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu.

Kotpad is a vegetable-dyed fabric woven by the tribal weavers of the Mirgan community of Kotpad village in Koraput district,Odisha , India. Kotpad handloom fabric is the first item from Odisha that received the Geographical Indication tag, in 2005. The Mirgan community of Kotpad is famous for their exquisite organic dyed textile. They usually weave this textile for “Bhotada”, “Dharua” and other motifs of their neighbouring tribal communities. The natural dye is manufactured from the aul tree grown in this area.
